As a child I used to sit on his lap especially during the cold season. I also remember one time when I was playing with my cousin I was electrocuted! Silly me. My father was doing a home repair/maintenance when I grabbed a light behind his back. He was quick to save me luckily I wasn't hurt. Of course he was angry, but no matter how angry my father could get he never did lay his hands on me, ever.
He has gone through a lot, worked a lot of jobs just to give his family a decent life. And by "a lot of jobs" I mean: a meat vendor, a tricycle driver, a seaman, a farmer, an OFW, and now his current venture, rice retailer. I am proud of my father, and I want him to be proud of me, too.
Sure I've done silly and stupid things in the past, things you might not be able to think of. But he bore with it and accepted me with open arms. There are times in my life where I wanted to cry and run to him and say, "Your were right, I should have listened." But when times prove that I am wrong and he is right, he never did say, "I told you so." He just wear he's poker face, haha and then you get the message. And then after a while with a stern voice he gives his advise and assurance that he's right there for me, always.
Happy Father's Day Papa! xoxo
